"Look Up!"

There really is something to ‘looking up’! It’s almost impossible to walk, run or even crawl without looking up and bumping into something or someone. Try it for yourself. Start out by putting one foot in front of the other and take a few more steps without looking up. If you don’t cheat, you’re bound to run into something or someone. Unless we’ve dropped something on the floor, usually when walking, we’re looking up and out towards our surroundings with fixed focus on a desired point of destination. Also, if we’re walking and looking down, either we’re in deep thought; we might have a headache; could be in pain, depressed or looking for a lost object. There could be many reasons why we’re walking and looking down.

Yet it’s amazing too how body language can almost determine a person's mood and walking with a hung down head could say something about a person’s mood. As stated above, there are reasons for looking down, but I want to share with you that there are reasons for looking up and looking forward. First and most importantly, you can see where you’re going if you look up. Next, you could be looking down because you don’t want to see what’s before you. If what’s ahead of you is painful, stressful, and difficult to face, you’re not wanting to look up. You’re probably feeling there’s no reason to look up. Why should I look up? What am I looking forward to?

Trust me! I get it! Several months ago, when I faced what I thought was almost the end of my world as I knew it caused me to not want to look up; I didn’t want to open my eyes! I could hardly walk through the day without a hung down head! I felt I had no reason to look up let alone to look forward! What was there to look up about or too? Those questions loomed over my head until a few months ago and in this blog I’m here to say there really is something to looking up and forward!

As a Christ-follower, in the storms of my life I’ve began to see clearly my reasons for looking up and looking forward and I’d like to come along side you and share in the joy of looking up! I want to encourage you often to look forward to what God has promised and given us to live for in this life filled with disappointments, trials and sufferings. I’m not there yet, in other words, I’ve not arrive to never look down again, but I’m striving to live life more abundantly in and through Christ here and now on the earth! Come walk with me and let me walk with you and together we'll reach the desired point of destination God has for us.
