Seasons of Life

Wow! I'm always amazed by the goodness and grace of God!

It's been a minute since I've posted, but LIFE IS HAPPENING! Life changes; aging; pressing through major life crises and the adjustments in the midst….you name it! Yet, my greatest strength comes via encouragement and joy in the Lord! I must often remind myself that I'm not here to stay! This earth isn't my permanent residence!  I make it a habit of thinking about the scripture found in Colossians 3:2TLB. It states, "Let heaven fill your thoughts; don't spend your time worrying about things down here." I know it's not the easiest thing for some of us to dwell on because to go to heaven means thinking about dying, and let's face it, most of us are probably not ready to die yet.

When I think of heaven, it's not always about dying immediately. When I think of heaven now, I know it's where Jesus is and where He resides. Most importantly, what's happening here on this side is not what's happening in heaven! I'm also encouraged by thoughts of heaven because that is my future home. I have so much to look forward to! As I'm writing about it, I'm smiling!

As Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are waiting for the Lord's return and for God's plan to be accomplished. That brings to mind another passage of scripture found in 1 Corinthians 2:9 NT. It states, "That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." It is so exciting to know God has my future! I am like a kid waiting for my birthday or Christmas to open my gifts!

Everyone is facing different places in life. Different seasons in life. In my Bible college days, a former professor once said, "You're either in a trial, coming out of a trial, or going into a trial." I don't know where you are right now, but I'd encourage you to be mindful of our Lord and let Him fill your heart, mind, and soul. Remember, too, that this life is temporal, and changes are constantly occurring. You will not always be where you are today. Our Lord continually encourages me as I think about Him and His plans for me! You should also be encouraged, especially knowing that your life is hidden in Christ, and He is your VICTORY! As I've often written and said, "Don't do life without Christ"!

Something to think about.

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every matter under heaven—Ecclesiastes 3:1 NASB
