Headache!

Time flies and it'sbeen a minute since my last post!

Life is still happening and you grab a hold with all you can trying to stay sane and keep it moving! The best part of living for me is that I don't have to do life alone! Sure, it's not easy but it's not promised to be easy. One of many blessings from God to the Believer is the promise that He would never leave us alone (Hebrews 13:5). This should be a constant thought for us especially when the toughies of life are knocking at our door. The longer I live and the more I set my heart and soul to focus on life lived in Christ, I realize I have to follow the pattern of life designed for me Gods' way. That means I have to read His word and find out how to address life according to Scripture and use it as my guide and FINAL AUTHORITY over every facet of my life.

For instance, today on my lunch break I was reading a book for suggested outside reading for a class that I'm taking. It was really nice outside and I decided to put my seat back and soak in the sun as it peeked from the clouds. As I settled into the seat my mind started to wonder and a mighty invasion of thoughts.... all kinds of thoughts crowed in on me. I felt the slight twinge of a headache coming on. My thoughts were racing like crazy and it wasn't long before I recognized what was happening and what I needed to do. I needed to put into action Isaiah 26:3 TLB that says, "He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!" It sounds easier said than done, but I knew I had to take action and do just what it says!

As I adjusted my seat and sat up, I thought more intently on the Scripture and focused on Christ and the promise. I promise you I started to feel the very peace it speaks of. Now as far as the headache, it didn't immediately go away. The reason being, I think I might have a caffeine addiction because I hadn't had coffee earlier that morning! HaHaHa! But if I hadn't started to think on Isaiah 26:3, my head would have been spinning even more and eventually my body would have succumbed to the heaviness of worry!

The Bible is filled with so many precious promises that God has given to us His children. These promises are given to us to live by and trust in and to know that we can trust them because they are the very Words from God. It's true; the battle is in the mind and we have an enemy who wants to destroy us mentally and physically. We do not have to stand by and be destroyed by the devil our enemy! God has given us tools to defeat him. The Word of God is the tool. Use the Word and take back your ground and territory! Let's commit to reading the Bible more and finding out all we can about this Great God we love, know and serve. Search out those precious promises He has promised for us His children.

A light for your path....

Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.

Philippians 4:8b TLB
